I would not recommend if you are seeking quality care for your child. The service that is advertised on the website is far from what the children actually receive. I never witnessed the teachers read to the children, nor conduct any activities as stated in the curriculum. The “teachers” would quickly take a photo of each child holding the “activity or lesson” of the day for the sake of having something to input into the end of day report, then the children are left to entertain themselves for the rest of the day with a very limited amount of toys. These are toddlers! There was very little meaningful interaction that I saw between these “teachers” and the children. Because of the harsh interactions I witnessed from the teachers in my child’s class, I will never consider placing my child in a daycare that does not allow in class video monitoring where the parents can check in on their child throughout the day. Again if you are seeking quality care or an actual teaching academy for your child, Kiddie Academy Lanham is not it.
I brought my daughter here for her social skills and it has been the best decision I have ever made. She is able to play with others and follow directions at home. This is a very great place to send your child. The staff is very friendly and professional. We have been attending over a year now. I am very pleased. My daughter is very happy here!
It has been over 2 years now that my daughter has been at kiddie academy in lanham. The curriculum is wonderful and the staff is very professional and genuine. My son's now attend and they are very happy to be joining their sister at kiddie academy. So, all 3 of my kids attend. Please take a tour and enroll your child.
The entire staff here at Kiddie Academy Lanham are always courteous, nice and professional. My 5 year old son is excelling and will be ready for Kindergarten as a result of the extraordinaire curriculum for his class.
I review the weekly lunch menu that is sent out and enjoy the level of effort, variety of food options and nutritional choices that is being offered to the students from the Lunch Lady.
My hat's off to this extraordinaire staff here at Kiddie Academy - Lanham.
We started our daughter at the school in 2021 (at age 2) and have noticed markable progress in her development in the past year. Most notably her expressive language, counting, and alphabet. Her social skills have improved tremendously among both children and the teachers.
I appreciate the cameras in the classroom and playground because I can check in on my daughter throughout the day. Parents also receive a daily report complete with the child's meals, learning activities, and photos for the day.
During the summer the school develops a STEM-based fun calendar where the students participate in super fun activities each day, like making volcanos, sink or float experiments, making butter, etc.
The administration welcomes parent partnerships and is open to feedback and makes immediate and lasting adjustments when a parent has a concern. The school was recommended to me by a friend and I have since recommended this school to two other parents who are equally satisfied with the center. We are very comfortable and confident with the educational experience that our daughter is receiving at KAL and we know that she will be well prepared for the next level of schooling when she ages out of KAL. Highly recommend.
Don't do it!! My daughter informed us that her teacher hit her and they did little to nothing about it. I sent the Director a lengthy email since this occurred while she was on vacation and she never responded. Claiming it went to her junk mail but none of my other emails have ever gone to junk mail. Insisted upon meeting with the director and owner only to hear excuses like the tape erases itself after 6 days, I asked my daughter leading question, they interviewed other teachers that didn't see anything. The owner told me that they didn't schedule a meeting because they were waiting to see me because "It seems like you run the household and the father isn't that involved." Total insist to my daughter's very active, hardworking, caring Black father (let me add he was sitting next to me in the meeting when this was said). Took her out that day but they tried not to give us back our deposit. Logged a complaint with Kiddie Academy corporate office that didn't do anything either except say they followed the proper protocol but they did not because Lanham didn't create a report until we demanded one. Reported them to CPS as well which is actively investigating Kiddie Academy Lanham. They also have a high turnover rate of teacher, internal administrative issues and bad communication/leadership.
